Well…we are kind of in love with the term sub. It’s in our name. Shortened from submarine sandwich. But, if your customers ask for a hoagie, grinder or sandwich, we hope you will serve them the most delicious sub they have ever had!

Great question. We know this matters, depending on where you will open. We call them “sub shops” but, they are pretty widely known as a deli – or delicatessen – if you want to be fancy – a sandwich shop, or even, a hoagie store. We hope you like the term we use, because we want you to follow our brand and help customers enjoy the amazing foods we have to offer.

Between 1,350 and 1,500 square feet with adequate parking and drive by traffic. We have specific site criteria which will help you evaluate real estate that would be a good fit for your Sub-Ology location. We do offer take-out and delivery, but some of your customers will eat in the shop, enjoying time with friends and family. We also offer catering so you will need some space to prepare larger orders and trays for those customers, whether they are having a party, celebrating a birthday, anniversary or religious ceremony, or having a team lunch.

You should be able to open in as little as 7 to 10 months if you find preexisting restaurant space maybe shorter even. All in all, it depends on how quickly you find your space, complete the fit out and pre-opening steps to be able to join us for your training. We want you to open as quickly as you can and start to grow.

Yes, but we know you won’t be making all the subs, salads, soups and sandwiches. Find a great team, teach them how to do it – just like we will teach you – so you can focus on marketing, development, finance and manage your team.

Yes. We believe some owners will operate multiple sub shops. We offer discounts on initial franchise fees for owners who commit up front to additional sub shops.

Typically between 3 and 4 employees per shift depending on time of day, day of the week and whether or not your local sports team is playing (especially during the playoff season!)

We will be able to share our Financial Performance Representation, called an Item 19 in our Franchise Disclosure Document which highlights affiliate performance and history. This can be a useful tool to help you evaluate the revenue potential for your Sub-Ology business.
